Between places, between practices.

Founded in 2026 by South Korean photographer Hanna Moon, The Common Room has the unique advantage of benefitting from both her local knowledge and decades’ experience working across the globe.

Within the context of the cultural boom in Korea which has seen the large-scale productions previously reserved for Europe and the USA moving over to Asia, Hanna is drawing on her understanding of local culture and her connections on the ground to offer production which is authentic, luxurious and tailored to the client, grounded in a confidence that local culture does not need to be performed, but can exist on its own terms.

The Common Room’s name derives from its aim to be a communal space: one of cultural exchange, shared ideas, experience and knowhow. Central to our ethos is the potential of a synergistic approach, the meeting of European and Asian modes of working, which creates fertile ground for new ways of thinking about production and art-making. This ethos is reflected in the location of our office, Euljiro in the heart of old town Seoul, an area still alive with traditional industry which now co-exists with a bustling generation of young creatives attracted to its gritty, atmospheric charm.

Whether accommodating local or international clients, The Common Room dishes up the very best of South Korea via full-service production, artist and crew coordination, casting, scouting, styling, studio and equipment rental.
